STORYTELLING
The scale of this painting is surreal in content but was necessary to explain the leverage of the power of storytelling. The storyteller is depicted, bigger than life, as she captivates an audience of adults, who stand in a downpour of rain to listen to her weave her tale. The master storyteller, likened to Jacqueline Torrence, are seen at the annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival, in historic Eatonville, Fl.

This collaborative work, which included my design, was the main focus of the exhibition "The Eatonville Quilters" during the 2007 Zora Neale Hurston Festival . It was a celebration of local talent in the Eatonville, Fl. community and was displayed in conjunction with the exhibit "The Gee's Bend Quilters", at the Orlando Museum of Art. The Eatonville quilters were Mrs. Josephine Burns, Mrs. Ella Dinkins, Mrs.Shelley McKinney and Mrs. Annie Winston.
